is he not the cutest! (: so i still have yet to see this little one, i am pretty much counting the days! yesterday my mom sent me this picuture of him smiling... i love that she can go and see him on her days off. jen is so jealous. so i thought that i would share his smiles. hope you are all getting things done for Christmas... i cannot believe its almost here!

in case you can't tell... this is me in the mini- and just so you know i have always wanted one. i think that i could be okay with having one too, but not in idaho- they weigh nothing, and go super fast! not too good in the dnow i don't think! anyway- my dream cooper is charcoal color with a black top, and everything else.... they are so much fun to drive... i got really spoiled.. too bad i had to give it back to the owner. fun times! (:

AUNT CINTY'S WHITE BEAN CHILI

1 large onion chopped
1 clove garlic
1/4 c. margarine or butter
4 c. cubed ckicken (cooked)
3 c. chicken broth
2 T. shipped fresh cilantro
1 T. dried basil leaves
1 t. chili powder
1 t. ground red pepper
2 (160z) cans great northern white beans

garnish with chips, chopped tomatoes, sour cream.

directions:
cook onions in a skillet with the butter and garlic.
put all ingredients into a 4 qt. pan or crock pot. heat until boiling. reduce heat and cover for an hour. stir occasionally.

MY NEPHEW!

here he is! i am so excited! i know that he came out just to see me! well, and probably everyone else! (:is this not the cutest little guy you have ever seen!?!? all dressed and bathed and so freaking handsome! and look at that hair! yesterday at 10:58 a.m. nate jr. my favorite nephew came! he weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces! his parents are so happy, and i am so happy for them. both mom and baby are doing very well. my mom has been up there since before he was born, and i am so wishing that i was there! i have not yet been up to see this new little guy, but i will hopefully be able to go up to rexburg soon! i am so excited for lisa and nate! i just cannot wait to kiss his little face! well...there will be more to tell soon...i just wanted to get this posted so that you early lookers could see the exciting news! (:

catching snowflakes

i am pretty sure that this is one of the funniest things that i have read all day! maybe some of you have seen this before, but honestly i would laugh so flipping hard! anyway, today i woke up to snow all over the place, but it was wet snow, and there was not much of it. i hope that it snows soon because if it is going to be cold, there might as well be snow! anyway, this is all i have for now...i should be studying for finals, so for the next week or so...i am sure that is going to be to topic (if not mentioned) in anything that i post..so there you go. i am looking forward to the snow this year though, i am not sure why- usually i hate it. i guess there is just a different feeling about this year! its great! (: what are your fav- snow memories? bon- remember the christmas that you came and picked me up in the blazer...the drifts were so high, we made it!

impressions......again

visiting the dental hygiene clinic for impressions... what a mess! fun fun!

you have some great views... the top, the bottom, and then more! these were taken on my phone! i really hope that this formats right.. i love going into the clinic and helping out my roomies! i am about down to just four of us living in our house...fun...but rent is a lot more. anyway, this is actually the second time that i have been in for impressions. i guess we learned that the impression stuff (you know the goop that they put in your mouth) actually has a shelf life...who knew? so she mixed the stuff, and it would not set up very good. it spilled all over the place...worse than you can see today.... we had a good laugh. i ended up calling aunt bonnie and telling the top reasons why you do not let your roommate take impressions on your teeth... she laughed a lot and i was sad that i did not take any pictures of the stuff all over my face, all over my shirt...etc. this is clean compared to what it was...and it was worth it. laughing is so good for your soul...plus....with us there is always a good laugh! so....we wanted to get two sets of good impressions so that we could have a back up for her study model...i lost count how many times those trays and that very 'yummy' tasting goo was in my mouth, but we had fun taking pictures, and laughing a lot. so yeah...this has been my day so far! (:

(oh....and i will just mention that i made this post while i was sitting in my geology class... we are talking about the 1997 snake river flood...do you remember that? i think my mom has a video of it)

nicknames....

so...since i have nothing better to do than waste time in the computer lab when i should be doing final projects and actually studying (seeing how i have finals in just over a week from now)..i am listening to my new fav CD jon mclaughlin (LOVE IT) and thinking about all of the nicknames that i have ever had... there have been so many in all 27 years of my life... i have been able to come up with a lot, and i thought that it would be fun to have you comment and tell me all of the names that you know of that i have had, that you have called me (appropriate ones..), or names that you know i have been called by others. i have had a lot of fun doing it, and i think that those who post some and help me out will bring a lot of smiles to my face...along with so many memories. isn't it funny that just a name can do that? - - well...just so you know, a name that i am called more often than not these days is 'heffa' (which has inspired the name of my blog) ... it all started when i was telling one of my roomates that after my mission i worked with a child with downs, he would call (basically yell) my name everytime that he walked into the door of our facility. since he could not say his J's and he skipped syllables etc. so he would call me "heffer" (which i know is a cow) but really it fit along with other family nicknames...and well the name "heffa" stuck! it is a lot of fun. it is especially fun to see how people react the first time they hear me respond to "heffa" they think how rude! but i just laugh...and we love it! 'heffa' later inspired 'heffalump' and i am not called that a lot, but it is written more than it is spoken sometimes... love it! (: well that was a long story...but i hope that you have as much fun as i have thinking about nicknames... really.... i know that you have all had so many- i cannot wait to hear about the ones you remember! (: love you!

the final countdown!

well it is monday again, and the last week of actual school...you know before the "dead week" (which by the way is not actually dead because we still have to go to class...and this semester i have to have my own sheep brain to disect (YUCK) so i think that my speech science professor took things a bit too literally) any way, and then it is finals. i want time to warp really bad past the next 2 1/2 weeks. the crazy thing is i think that my last final is on the 20th! who in the heck decided that it was a good thing to have the semester last so long? oh well. the break will be good, and much needed. i am thinking that i am going to try out riv's bread recipe... and read a bunch of books. more than likely i will be heading to spend a few days with my g-ma and so i think that a lot of baking will be done! its christmas and so in my brain calories dont count so pretty much everything is free game! anyway, if you all have any fun recipes that are yummy let me know...i have loved looking at becca's and bonnies...you guys let me know your favorites! (: also any good books that you can share would be much appriciated!

are these two not the cutest! well i was really spoiled to get to see them over thanksgiving, and i promise you that i am seriosly going through withdrawls. i have missed the movies with shae, dacing with kayla, and just being with them. sharing chocolate and smiles...their smiles are addictive...and everyone loves them. well..i just thought this picture of them was so cute! i wish that they did not have to live all of the way in Boise... but we will see them again soon i hope. i have more picutes that i want to add, and talk about, but they are slow in coming. i am making a calander for spencer again, and i think that i will post most of what i have...then you can share your opinion! love all! school again...

in about 4 weeks my life will be a lot less stressfull...and that is the truth! today has been "back to classes" and i am not going to lie when i tell you that i was not very excited. but this too shall pass, and before i know it i will be done with the semester and starting my last semester as an undergrad. WOW! it is pretty much an amazing thing...but a lot of work.

the break was good to me. we had a baby shower for lisa on monday that went so well...i am not great at being in charge of things, but i think that overall everyone had a good time and it was only an hour...bonus! we really are blessed to have such great friends and family.

thanksgiving was at my parents house...and well...it was good to have everyone there. well, everyone but spencer...but we all thought about him. it was great to have dave and echo there with the girls as well as nate and my prego sister lisa...who is due to have little nate junior on dec 12th. i personally hope that he gets here before then, but i am bias i guess. so yeah- it was great. the picture is really not the best..but it was taken with a cell phone so what do you expect? erin looks really enthused...and you cannot see my mom or me, we are sitting behind dave and echo- also my father is off in space...i am not exactly sure that everyone knew that the picuter was being taken...no worries...we had a good time.

also, on saturday we went to see the movie August Rush...i loved it! i came back to poky on saturday, and let's just say that i really needed another week to have a break...no worries though...it will go by fast and before we know it christmas will be here!

i have so much to be thankful for. i really am blessed with a great family, and supportive friends! i love you all!

sunday sunday-

well i am home finally... and it feels like i have been gone forever. so many things have changed! like the new maverik on lincoln and ammon rd.. what the crap! also our ward boundaries have changed since the last time that i have been to church with my parents... so i was home today, but not really home...it is good to be here though, and just hang out with my family. tomorrow we are going to take a bunch of pictures, and will be able to upate more... (:
it was a really good sabbath though. today the home teachers came over, and they brought with them such a strong spirit. i was impressed by this family, and hope that they will be my families home teachers for awhile.

to wax or not to wax...

okay...so this is about the best invention ever! we were a bit cautious at first... because let's be honest have you ever waxed your eyebrows? well if you do remember that it can hurt like... well it can hurt. anyway, so on went the wax. on went the muslin, off came everything... and guess what- it didn't hurt! so we are showing off our hairless legs. and i will say that if i could i would always wax my legs...i didn't have to shave for at least a couple of weeks. i'm pretty much addicted! this was probably one of the funnest nights. there were about 6 girls over, we listned to air supply and drank virgin margaritas! we are crazy...but we can be!

well....the things you learn when you mess around with things long enough. for one...right now i have just learned how to actually view this site in english.... huge i know. this is big... it means that i will be able to post so many more things...and actually update everything! (: yeah!

for those of you who are waiting...

this post i wrote a bit ago...and just found it... it explains more.. just thought you might want to know.... "okay...well at school, i still have this massive problem...everything that i need to know about posting and adding pictures is all in some asain characters...it is all quite comical, but you gotta love it! i want to thank all of you for your comments and i appologize that i am not doing so hot in getting everything up and running as soon as you would like.... good news though. i am heading home for thanksgiving, and will be home for about 10 days! yeah! why is this exciting for all of you...well i will be able to be at a computer that i can understand and will be able to post picutes and make this into something more exciting...
for now, i am almost done with the semester...about 4 more weeks... i have about 180 days until graduation, and well... i guess you will have to wait for the rest when i have pictures to go with everything! :) until then...i hope you are all doing great!"
